Efficient Polystyrene Recycling Solutions: QINFENG’s EPS Compactors and Hot Melt Machines
2024-03-28
The recycling of polystyrene never ceases, as evidenced by a recycling event in Berrien County, Michigan. The county’s Parks Department stated that anyone could dispose of or donate electronic waste and polystyrene foam waste meeting recycling standards, which the department would then collect for free, preventing these waste materials from entering nature and causing environmental harm.
Recycling begins with sorting and packaging various types of waste, including electronic products, chemical waste, and polystyrene foam. Recyclable polystyrene foam includes coolers, cups, clean take-out containers, egg cartons, and block packaging, all to be recycled by Tri-Power Recycling Company in Elkhart, Indiana. However, transportation and storage pose challenges.
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is 98% air after expansion, making it difficult to transport without preprocessing, leading to wastage of resources and time. Moreover, storage becomes problematic due to the inability to quickly transfer waste. In community recycling processes, there is limited space for storing discarded polystyrene. Therefore, using a polystyrene compactor is essential to simplify the recycling process.
Implementing a polystyrene compactor effectively addresses both transportation and storage issues, primarily caused by the large volume of polystyrene. QINFENG designs and manufactures polystyrene CF-HM 400 EPS Compactors, which extrude approximately 90% of the air through screw compression, reducing the volume by 80%-90%. This method significantly improves the efficiency of transporting densely packed polystyrene blocks, saving fuel costs. Additionally, compressed polystyrene is easier to store and place, maintaining warehouses’ cleanliness and reducing fire hazards.
QINFENG offers polystyrene compactors and comprehensive solutions for customers’ recycling activities. EPS hot melt machines process large quantities of materials such as EPS, EPP, EPX, XPS, PUR, and EVA into small molten blocks, making them suitable for medium to large recycling centers and food markets, with a production capacity of 180-200 kg/h.
