FAQ

A foam recycling machine is a device that compresses loose foam (like expanded polystyrene, EPS) into dense blocks or melts it into reusable material. There are two main types: the Cold Compactor and the Hot Melter. A cold compactor uses powerful physical pressure to compress foam into blocks, while a hot melter uses heat to melt and reduce the foam's volume.

The cold compactor reduces foam volume by mechanical compression, while the hot melter melts and extrudes foam into dense ingots for recycling.

A cold compactor usually achieves a 50:1 reduction ratio, while a hot melter can reach up to 90:1.

Foam waste volume can be reduced by 90–98%, lowering storage and transportation costs.

Most foam recycling machines are primarily designed to process Expanded Polystyrene (EPS). Some machines may also handle other types of foam, like Expanded Polyethylene (EPE),Extruded Polystyrene (XPS), Expanded Polypropylene(EPP).

Cold compactors handle 40–300 kg/h, while hot melters handle 80–250 kg/h depending on model

The recycled EPS material is typically sold to plastic recyclers. This material can then be reprocessed into various products, such as:Picture frames and decorative moldings, building materials, like insulation boards, new foam packaging materials, other plastic products, such as clothes hangers and pen holders

Yes. They feature automated feeding, compaction, and safety systems, requiring minimal training.

Regular cleaning, hydraulic/heating system checks, and lubrication of moving parts are recommended.
