Qinfeng Machinery Conducts Summer Fire Drill to Enhance Emergency Response Capabilities
2025-05-28
May 26, 2025, 9:00 AM – Qinfeng Machinery Co., Ltd. organized a comprehensive fire safety drill for all employees. The exercise included smoke simulation, alarm response, and hands-on fire extinguishing training to thoroughly test the company’s emergency fire response capabilities.
Highly Realistic Simulation of Fire Emergency
The drill began with safety personnel deploying smoke bombs in the eastern section of the workshop, simulating an electrical short circuit fire. Thick smoke quickly spread, triggering the strobe-and-siren alarms installed on the ceiling.
“Workshop fire detected—activate emergency protocols!” the safety supervisor announced via radio. Simultaneously, the workshop manager pressed the manual alarm button and “called” 119 to report the incident:
“This is Qinfeng Machinery Co., Ltd., located at No. 206, Jiangjin Road, Jinfeng Town. A fire has broken out in the workshop, covering approximately XX square meters. Employees are evacuating, and no one is trapped.” The report was delivered clearly and accurately.
Organized Evacuation Ensures Full Staff Safety
Amid blaring alarms, employees swiftly entered emergency mode. Evacuation guides, holding glow sticks, directed personnel along marked exit routes. All staff followed protocol:
Covered mouths/noses with damp towels
Crouched low (keeping heads below 1 meter)
Followed fluorescent exit signs along walls
Avoided elevators, using stairwells exclusively
The entire evacuation was completed in 3 minutes and 28 seconds, with all employees accounted for at the assembly point.
Hands-On Fire Extinguisher Training
At the safe zone, fire safety specialists demonstrated proper extinguisher use:
Dry Powder Extinguishers:
Shake vertically 3x (loosening powder)
Remove safety pin (avoid squeezing handle prematurely)
Stand upwind, 2–3 meters from flames
Grip nozzle with one hand, depress lever with the other
Sweep base of fire left-to-right
Water Mist Extinguishers (Special Notes):
Invert and shake 3x before use
Optimal spraying distance: 1.5 meters
Suitable for oil/electrical fires (<36kV)
Employees then practiced in groups, with reminders: “Stay upwind, keep flames downwind.”

Fire Hydrant System Live Demonstration
Outdoors, the equipment team showcased hydrant operation:
Open cabinet, unroll hose, and attach nozzle
Connect hose to hydrant (turn clockwise to lock)
Gradually open valve (halfway first, then fully)
Two-person team required (one controls nozzle, one manages hose)
A simulated low water pressure scenario was resolved after identifying an unprimed pump.

Summer Fire Prevention Guidelines
The safety director emphasized key measures for high-temperature months:
Keep 1m clearance around electrical panels
Welding areas must have spark trays and extinguishers
Flammables (oil, solvents) stored in designated areas
“Five Shutdowns” at day’s end: Power, gas, water, windows, doors
Outcome
The 30-minute drill covered alarm response, evacuation, extinguisher/hydrant use, and contingency handling. It successfully heightened fire safety awareness and operational readiness, reinforcing Qinfeng’s commitment to workplace safety. The Safety Management Department will continue refining protocols to strengthen defenses.
